OREANDA-NEWS. On 07 August 2009 CenterTelecom OJSC announced its Board of Directors has re-appointed Vaagn Martirosyan the company's General Director on basis of recommendations by the Committee for HR and Remuneration of the Board of Directors. The Board also approved the terms of a labor contract which will be concluded with Mr. Martirosyan and determined the term of his tenure of employment – July 31, 2009 to July 30, 2011.

The issue was considered by the Board of Directors in connection with expiry of powers of the company's general director on July 30.

Vaagn Martirosyan was born on 8 December 1951 in Tbilisi. In 1974 he graduated from Yerevan Polytechnic Institute, with specialty in automatics and telemechanics. In 1980 he graduated from Institute of Management Issues attached to the Academy of Sciences and Ministry of Instrument Making Industry of USSR. In 1974-1977 he was working for Yerevan branch of Central Scientific and Research Institute of Telecommunications as an engineer, senior engineer and then chief engineer. In 1980-1993 he was working as Head of Laboratory, Head of Scientific Department, and First Deputy Head of Yerevan branch of Central Scientific and Research Institute of Telecommunications. In 1993 he joined Central Telegraph company as Deputy Director for New Technologies, in July 1995 he was appointed Deputy General Director for Business Development, and in 1997 – First Deputy General Director. In 2001-2007 he was General Director of Central Telegraph OJSC. In June 2007 he was appointed General Director of CenterTelecom OJSC. Mr. Martirosyan has honorary titles such as Master of Telecommunications, Honored Telecommunications Worker. He was awarded the medal “For Labor Valor”. Mr. Martirosyan is married, has two daughters.
