OREANDA-NEWS. On 07 August 2009 was announced, that over the first six months of 2009 OJSC Ilim Group’s locations have manufactured 1,121 thousand tons of pulp and paper products. This is 8% less than in the similar period of the previous year.

Market pulp production amounted to 703 thousand tons, which is 9% less than in 1H 2008. Market board production has increased by 5% to 319 thousand tons. Production of paper has totaled 98 thousand tons (25 % down).

Pulp cooking added up to 1,227 thousand tons, having dropped 9% as compared with the reporting period of 2008.

According to Mr. Paul Herbert, Chief Executive Officer of Ilim Group, despite the reduced production volumes, the Company is effectively coping with the recessional effects in the pulp and paper industry, adjusting its production to the market needs.
