On 07 August 2009 was announced, that the Board of Directors of CenterTelecom adopted a decision at a meeting held in view of recommendations from the Committee for Executives and Remunerations to appoint Vaagn Artavazdovich Martirosyan as general director of Center Telecom.  The board of directors also by its decision specified the mandate of the general director from July 31, 2009 until July 30, 2011 inclusive and approved the terms and conditions of the employment contract which was concluded with the general director of CenterTelecom.

The issue concerning the appointment of the general director of CenterTelecom was considered by the board of directors in conjunction with the expiration on July 30, 2009 of the powers of the general director of CenterTelecom.

Vaagn Artavazdovich Martirosyan was born on December 8, 1951 in Tbilisi.  In 1974 he graduated from the Erevan Polytechnical Institute with a major in Automation and Telemechanics. In 1980 he graduated from the Institute of Management Problems under the Academy of Sciences and the Ministry of Tools and Instrumentation of the USSR.  From 1974 until 19777 he worked as an engineer, senior manager and then as leading engineer and then as leading engineer at the Erevan division of the Central Scientific Research Institute for Telecommunications (ICSRIT).  From 1980 until 1993 he worked as the head of a laboratory, head of a scientific division, and then first deputy head of the Erevan Scientific Research Institute for Telecommunications.  In 1993 he went to work at the position of deputy head of the enterprise for the creation of new technologies. In 1995 he was named deputy general director for business development at Central Telegraph, and then in 1997 he was appointed first deputy general director.  From 2001 until 2007 he was general director of Central Telegraph.  In June 2007 he was appointed as general director of Central Telegraph.  He was honored to receive the awards “Master of Telecommunications”, and “Distinguished Telecom Worker”.  He was also awarded the medal “For Labor Merit”. He is married with two daughters.
