OREANDA-NEWS. On 24 August 2009 was announced, that Head of Karelia Sergey Katanandov has visited the fish-processing complex which is under construction in the settlement of Beryozovka of Kondopoga region.

Project of the trout farm expansion belongs to local businessman Nikolay Fedorenko. Twenty years ago having come to Karelia together with his brother Grigory from Belarus, he started breeding rainbow trout. This was a complex task also connected with serious financial risk. The businessmen never has any superfluous money, all their income after paying the salary to workers is invested in business. Now they have expanded production, constructed a new shop, and also they had to take out loans in two banks which should be paid back within two years.

Now at the enterprise there work 12 employees. Capacity of operating cage lines makes 450 tons of commodity trout a year. In the further the new project assumes production of fresh-water and sea fish: chilled and frozen (cut up and whole), salt, smoked and cooked, smoked fish of various kinds, soft trout caviar. There will also appear new workplaces: there will work 45 employees.

Interest of the Head of Karelia to the new shop was not casual. Session of the Russian steering committee on preparation for the forthcoming celebrationof the 90 anniversary of Kareliawill take place in Karelia in September. The First Deputy Prime Minister of the Government of the Russian Federation Victor Zubkov will come to our republic. Karelia may achieve support of actively developing trout-breeding farms from the federal authority. For this purpose we need actual success, and Nikolay Fedorenko's farm is a success.

- Trout farms in Karelia have achieved pretty good results today. In the past twenty years almost a branch new to Russia was created in Karelia from scratch. For the republic it is a real prospect for economy development. Our nest task, - Sergey Katanandov says, - is to organize fish-processing on the spot, in Karelia. Such enterprises have started to appear, but them are quite a few. Russia should buy its own trout, instead of imported from Norway or Iceland. For for this purpose it is necessary to create conditions for our entrepreneurs. Today in Karelia there exists a system of measures providing support to trout-breeding farms, granting of long-term loans and participation in the national project Development of Rural Areas.

Nikolay Fedorenko is not afraid of competitors. "Russia needs lots of fish, - he says, - so we won't have serious competition soon." We already known where production of the new shop will be delovered: invention of the Karelian businessman is interesting to local sellers, businessmen from Moscow and Murmansk. There is a package of orders which value makes one and a half thousand tons of the most different production. Besides, the shop will render services and neighbouring trout farmers in processing of fish produced at their farms. There are about eight farms of this kind in the neighbourhood, as Fedorenko brothers counted for journalists.

These are not all the ideas. Nikolay Fedorenko has taken Sergey Katanandov to his neighbour. Gennady Gutyra has built a shop producing light and convenient foam containers for fish transportation. Thus, there appeared an uninterrupted cycle. Now none of the entrepreneurs has to look for partners elsewhere. The fish in ready packages will be delivered to the customer, the neighbour will have an opportunity to sell his packaging to his neighbours, and even firms from Moscow or St.-Petersburg. They are also interested in this production.

Having examined the complex closely, Head of Karelia has approved the new undertaking.

- I already known Nikolay Fedorenko for a long time, - Head of Karelia has told to journalists, - I remember him and his brother starting their fishing and netting business. Today these businessmen are famous in Karelia. Their diligence, talent and vital activity make us respect with such people. It is good that in Karelia there are many workers like them.
