OREANDA-NEWS. On 26 August 2009 was announced, that Belarus’ farm output increased 8.8% on the year in January-July to 12.3 trillion Belarusian rubles (Br), a source in the National Statistics Committee told.

Agricultural companies and farms increased production 14.1%.

Sales of fattened cattle and poultry rose 12.8% on the year in January-July to 665,600 tonnes, milk output rose 8.5% to 3.374 million tonnes, and egg output went up 2.9% to 1.317 billion units.

Return on sales of Belarus’ agribusiness reached 5.8% in January-June 2009, down from 8.1% in January-June 2008.

In January-June 2009, farms’ net profit reached 1.009 trillion rubles, up 16.4% year-on-year. Net loss of 21 unprofitable farms was at 6.3 billion rubles, up from 3.15 billion rubles in January-June 2008. There were nine loss-making farms in January-June 2008.

Overdue payables of Belarus’ agriculture were at 1.7 trillion rubles as of July 1, 2009, 18.6% of all payables. Overdue payables rose 33.2% over July 1, 2008, and exceeded overdue receivables 3.7 times.
