OREANDA-NEWS. On 31 August 2009 was announced, that about three million square metres of housing are to be built and commissioned in Moscow next year.

According to Marina Ogloblina, head of the Department of Economic Policy and Urban Development of Moscow, 1.926 million square metres of housing have been built over the first seven months of 2009.

“Some three million square metres of housing are planned to be built and commissioned in Moscow next year. A million of them will be used directly for Moscow’s needs, including new social homes,” the official said at the city government session on August 25.

Ms Ogloblina added that over 700,000 square metres would be built at the expense of Moscow’s budget funds in 2010.
