OREANDA-NEWS. August 31, 2009. From 1 through 14 September, 2009, an internal will be opened for the unit hybrid investment trust "Kuznetskiy Most" managed by MC Bank of Moscow.

Since the beginning of the year, the units of the "Kuznetskiy Most" Unit Investment Trust have gone up in value by 64% (as of 31 July, 2009). The increase has largely been a result of a rise in the value of companies in the oil and gas and metallurgical sectors: In ferrous metallurgy, it has been the shares of JSC MMK and JSC Severstal that have risen most actively an in the oil and gas sector — those of JSC Lukoil and JSC NK Rosneft.

"One specific of the interval fund is that it protects investors against market volatility", noted Vladimir Vedeneev, Director of the Asset Management Department of MC Bank of Moscow. "Under the current conditions, interval funds can potentially demonstrate the highest yields, outstripping stock market indices. Whereas, with respect to open unit investment trusts, managers have to reject investments in promising but not overly liquid stocks because transactions with these are not conclude frequently on the market, interval funds provide more room for manoeuvre. At the same time, it should be borne in mind that some shares of second and third tier companies included in the Kuzentskiy Most fund’s investment portfolio have not yet recovered from the losses of last year, so they have significant growth potential."

Units of the fund may be bought and sold at agency centres for operations with investment units of MC Bank of Moscow located throughout Russia. Payment can be made for units (provided a purchase application has already been submitted) through all ATMs of the Bank of Moscow. Payment is made in roubles.
