OREANDA-NEWS. September 03, 2009. Upon the accomplishment of a set of scheduled preventive maintenance and repair operations, natural gas transportation via the Yamal – Europe gas pipeline was resumed on September 2, at 10:00 pm Moscow time.
Background

Scheduled preventive maintenance and repair operations at the Yamal – Europe gas pipeline commenced on September 1, at 4:00 pm Moscow time in Russia, Poland and Germany simultaneously. Therefore, natural gas transmission via the pipeline was temporarily suspended. Additional volumes of gas transit across Ukraine ensured gas supply to consumers.

Scheduled preventive maintenance and repair operations were agreed upon with all the stakeholders in December 2008.

It is the ninth set of scheduled preventive maintenance and repair operations carried out at gas export trunklines in 2009.

The last set of preventive maintenance and repair operations scheduled for this year is to start on September 22 at the Soyuz pipeline. Gas supply to consumers will be ensured through gas flow redistribution.
