OREANDA-NEWS. September 07, 2009. Roman Vodolazkyy who has worked for SCM for the last seven years is leaving the Company, reported the press-centre of SCM. 

During his work in the Company, Mr Vodolazkyy made a considerable contribution in the formation and development of SCM's finance department. He was in charge of formation of the holding's finance department from scratch and responsible for building all major processes and regulations, including control of key functions and organization of efficient interaction between different departments of the Group. Also Mr Vodolazkyy took an active part in implementation of corporate restructuring programme and improvement of the system of corporate governance in SCM Group. Thanks to concerted and professional actions of Mr Vodolazkyy and his team, SCM is perceived as a company that has faultless financial statements assured by the world's leading auditing companies and reliable reputation in international loan markets.

"For the last several years SCM's team, where I had the honour of working, has done a lot - from a large-scale corporate restructuring and reconstructing of the management system to successful entrance to international financial markets and implementation of the latest global standards and practices on all levels of the Group. Day after day we were approaching our main goal - to build a world-class company", commented Roman Vodolazkyy. "SCM has still many new goals and objectives but we have done the main job. After leaving SCM Roman Vodolazkyy will join the international auditing company PricewaterhouseCoopers.

"Some time ago the experience acquired in PwC allowed me to take a key management position in SCM. Now it is the time to make the next step. I am sure that the experience I gained at SCM will help me benefit other companies in and outside Ukraine as well as develop and progress as a professional", said Roman Vodolazkyy. "I also believe that my cooperation with SCM will continue - it will just be somewhat different".

Margarita Povazhnaya, former Deputy CFO of SCM, will hold the position of CFO of SCM on 07 September 2009.

Ms Povazhnaya added, "It is very important that SCM's management team has developed a principle of continuity which lies at the core of staff changes. I will do everything in my power to continue the policy of SCM's absolute leadership in economic, social and financial areas. Our company has everything necessary to grow and develop further on".

Roman Vodolazkyy graduated from Kherson State Technical University with two university degrees in "Accounting and audit" and "Software".

By the time he graduated, he had already held the position of Chief Accountant in several Ukrainian companies.  After graduation he worked in the Financial Department of MacDonald’s Ukraine, and later in the Audit Department of PriceWaterhouse Coopers in Kiev. The last position he held at PriceWaterhouse Coopers before leaving the company in 2002 was Senior Auditor.

After leaving PriceWaterhouse Coopers Mr Vodolazkyy joined SCM as a manager of the metallurgical division where he was responsible for SCM’s metallurgical sector. He participated in strategy development; evaluated capital investment plans and various strategic options for steel plants; monitored operating performance improvement programmes; and was responsible for setting up the management reporting system in the steel division of the Group.

In February 2005 he was promoted to Senior Financial Manager and in June 2005 the name of the position was changed to Chief Financial Officer.

Margarita Povazhnaya graduated from Donetsk State Commercial Institute majoring in "Management in production area".

She started her career in 1996 when she was selected to the position of State Tax Officer of the Individuals Audit Department.    By the time she joined SCM, she had worked as Chief Accountant in several Ukrainian companies (SP Skandik Yug, Artyomovsk Winery).

In 2003 Ms Povazhnaya took up the position of Chief Accountant in SCM.

In July 2008 she was appointed Deputy CFO.
