OREANDA-NEWS. September 10, 2009. Freight One’s Yaroslavl branch increased haulage on the Northern Railway in July by 7% compared with June. The company loaded a total of 17,100 railway cars in July.

Haulage in gondola cars increased by 10% over the month of June, accounting for most of the increase. The main growth drivers were construction freight, granulated slag and ferrous metals, particularly for such large customers as JSC Ammophos and JSC Severstal.

The branch’s average daily loading for the month increased by 4%, from 530 to 550 railway cars.

The branch has been steadily improving its performance since the start of the year. It has increased its haulage by 160% since January. The branch loaded a total of 83,500 railway cars in the first 7 months of 2009 and transported 5.4 MMT of freight, including 2.5 MMT of coal, 800,000 metric tons of non-ferrous ores, 600,000 metric tons of ferrous metals and 500,000 metric tons of oil and petroleum products.
