In January to July, 2009, the Central Bank of Azerbaijan (CBA)  registered reduction of money mass (M2) by AZN 989.4 million (16.3%) with its year-on-year drop of AZN 120.1 million (2.3%). In December, 2008, growth made AZN 568.2 million (10.3%) and for 2008 – AZN 1.985 bn (48.5%).

CBA reports that as of 1st August M2 index totaled AZN 5.09 bn versus AZN  4.87 bn by 1st July, versus AZN 4.811 bn by 1st June, AZN 4.732 bn by 1st May, AZN 4.74 bn by 1st April, AZN 5.26 bn by 1st March, AZN 5.59 bn by 1st February, AZN 6.08 bn by 1st January of 2009 and AZN 5.2 bn by 1st August of 2008.

In January to July, 2009,  cash money mass (M0) declined by 11.2% (AZN 488.2 million) with year-on-year rise of 4.9% (AZN 169.2 million).

As of 1st August M0 index reached AZN 3.657 million versus AZN 3.486 million by 1st July, AZN 3.396 bn by 1st June, AZN 3.297 bn by 1st May, AZN 3.304 bn by 1st April, AZN 3.666 bn by 1st March, AZN 3.896 bn by 1st February 2009, AZN 4.145 bn by 1st January 2009 and AZN 3.49 bn by 1st August 2008.

Broad money supply (M3) totaled AZN 7.58 million by 1st August,  2009, versus AZN  6.69 bn by 1st July, AZN 6.612 bn by 1st June, AZN 6.502 bn by 1st May, AZN 6.397 bn by 1st April, AZN 7.328 bn by 1st March, AZN 8.009 bn by 1st February, AZN 8.49 bn by 1st January of 2009 and AZN 7.537 bn by 1st August 2008, while transaction money AZN 4.365 bn versus AZN 4.198 bn, AZN 4.15 bn, AZN 4.109 bn, AZN 4,088.3 million, AZN 4.528 bn, AZN 4.727 bn, AZN 5.145 bn and AZN 4.3 bn respectively.
