OREANDA-NEWS. September 15, 2009. At the end of August 2009, the trials of marine engine lubricating oils Lukoil Navigo 6 CO and Lukoil Navigo MCL 70 were completed on board the tanker Troitsky Bridge. The tanker’s main engine, a MAN B&W 6S50MC-C, was chosen for the trials. During the year the main engine operational performance was carefully monitored in conjunction with Man B&W, the wear on the piston-cylinder-unit parts was regularly measured, and the samples of oil were tested in research laboratories. MAN B&W confirmed the quality and conformance of the Lukoil marine lubricating oils for use in slow-running diesel engines. Over a period of 4,000 hours, the tanker’s crew monitored the engine’s operational parameters and collected samples to confirm the results. After the trials were completed, the overhaul of two cylinders of the 6S50MC-C main engine of 8430 kWt at 123RPM was performed; the bearings and all the moving parts were examined.

The testing of the marine engine lubricating oils manufactured by a Russian company is another joint project of SCF Group and Lukoil in Russia.

In June 2008, the first large-scale shipment of oil via the Fixed Offshore Ice-resistant Offloading Terminal (FOIROT) was executed as a part of the Varandey project of seaborne oil transportation, implemented by Sovcomflot and Lukoil. In September 2009 the 100th shipment of crude oil was dispatched from the Varandey FOIROT using Arctic shuttle tankers of the Vasily Dinkov type.

As of today, 6.8 million tonnes (8 million mі) of oil were transported by SCF Group’s tankers from the Varandey terminal.

The tanker Troitsky Bridge, where the testing of the marine engine lubricating oils was undertaken, is the first ship in a series of eight product tankers built at the Admiralty Shipyards (St. Petersburg) for SCF Group. The tanker has been designed to carry five types of different cargoes simultaneously, including crude oil and oil products, in 10 different cargo tanks.
