RTS Released Stock Market Weekly Trading Results

OREANDA-NEWS. September 16, 2009. Over the week of September 7 – September 11, 2009, the RTS Index went up by 12.50% to each 1,196.55 points (1,063.57 points as of September 4, 2009). Most of the positive impact on the Index dynamics was related to the growing prices for ОАО "LUKOIL" ordinary shares (LKOH) (plus 22.12 points), Sberbank ordinary shares (plus 22.03 points) and Gazprom ordinary shares (GAZP) (plus 20.62 points).

The "second-tier" stock index – RTS-2 experienced an increase closing at 1,105.81 points (10.58% up against 999.98 points as of September 4, 2009). Last week all the key economy sectors represented on the Russian stock market demonstrated a positive trend. The largest growth was reported by the industrial sector, with the RTS Index – Industrial going up by 32.20%. A significant increase was also registered in the oil & gas sector, with the corresponding index gaining 13.07%. The slightest growth was shown by the consumer & retail sector, with the RTS Index – Consumer & Retail climbing 7.02%.

For the last week the US dollar lost 2.78% against the RF rouble to reach 30.89 roubles per US dollar (31.77 as of September 4, 2009).

The total securities trading volume on RTS for the week September 7 – September 11, 2009 equaled USD8.3 billion (259.3 billion roubles*), including all types of trades. The trading volume on RTS Standard totaled USD1,170.62 million.

The week's top sellers were Sberbank ordinary shares (SBER) with a turnover of USD654.932 million followed by Gazprom ordinary shares (GAZP) with a turnover of USD322.382 million and ordinary shares of ОАО "LUKOIL" (LKOH) with a turnover of USD110.545 million. The share of each security in the total trading volume made up 52.11%, 25.65% and 8.80% respectively.

The week's top gainers were ordinary shares of KAMAZ Inc (KMAZ) that went up by 73.68% to USD1.98 followed by ordinary shares of "UTK" PJSC (KUBN) – by 50.0% to USD0.075 and ordinary shares of SOLLERS OJSC (SVAV) that went up by 44.44% to reach USD13.0.

The week's top losers were ordinary shares of PJSC "NCSP" (NMTP) that fell in price by 6.98% to reach USD0.14 followed by ordinary shares of Ashinskiy metallurgical works (AMEZ) – by 4.51% to USD0.275 and ordinary shares of "MOSTOTREST" (MSTT) – by 1.54% to USD640.0.
