We thank all the participants for open constructive dialogue and their readiness to provide offers in maximum compliance with MegaFon’s requirements to such equipment as well as to the delivery terms” – he outlines also.    

MegaFon shall purchase at least 60% of 3G Node -B Base Stations out of the total tender volume before the end of 2010 from the winner Nokia Siemens Networks. MegaFon shall decide upon the territory of the equipment supply within Russia at the same time there shall be no exclusivity rights provided to vendors.  

The equipment supply frame contract with effective term the end of 2010 which can be prolonged agreed by the parties has been executed with companies-winners.

Huawei Technologies and Nokia Siemens Networks shall provide MegaFon’s staff with full tech support for supplied equipment as necessary for installation and following coordination of technical maintenance of 3G equipment  

In total tender included five companies: Alcatel-Lucent, Ericsson, Nokia-Siemens, Huawei Technologies and ZTE.

It was for the first time in the history of such tenders that MegaFon divided it into two stages. Stage one included the assessment of technical input. Then if participants have passed the technical assessment, the financial metrics were compared.

Partners that were selected throughout the tender have offered optimal price vs. quality conditions. Proposals from tender participants were evaluated with consideration of OPEX for installation and maintenance of the equipment.
