OREANDA-NEWS. September 22, 2009. In August 2009 Freight One’s Nizhegorodsk branch exceeded its loading figures by 17% against the same period last year. The volume was 6,800 wagons.

The Nizhegorodsk branch’s delivery structure underwent some major changes. Whereas in 2008 loading operations were confined almost entirely to cisterns and cement carriers (76% and 23% respectively), in 2009 the branch handled all kinds of rolling stock. Covered trucks accounted for 16% of loading operations and open wagons 8%.

According to results in August, the branch hauled 13% of all cargo dispatched along the Nizhny Novgorod railway and its share of haulage in covered trucks exceeded 25% (1,183 wagons).

“As we expected, the second half began with stable growth against 2008 levels. The branch is now steadily increasing its haulage volumes and market presence on the Nizhny Novgorod railway,” said Alexander Kornyshev, acting director of the Nizhegorodsk branch of JSC Freight One.
