OREANDA-NEWS. September 28, 2009. Tianwan Nuclear Power Plant, a Chinese NPP built under the supervision of Russian Atomstroyexport, generated its 10,000,000,000th KWh this year.

For Atomstroyexport it was a good accomplishment by the Day of Nuclear Worker while for the Chinese operators – a milestone achievement before the 60th anniversary of the People’s Republic of China to be celebrated on Oct 1.

Since the launch of its first two units, Tianwan NPP has produced over 30bln KWh.

In Sept 2009 Atomstroyexport CJSC and Jiangsu Nuclear Power Corporation (JNPC) signed a protocol on final acceptance of the 2nd unit of Tianwan Nuclear Power Plant and completion of its two-year guarantee maintenance. The protocol was signed by First Vice President of Atomstroyexport Alexander Nechayev and the Director General of JNPC.

The protocol on the completion of the guarantee maintenance of the 1st unit was signed in June 2009.

The guarantee maintenance has proved the efficiency and safety of Tianwan NPP. Both reactors are operating stably at a capacity of 1,060MW and are showing high efficiency. Since its launch, the plant has generated over 30bln KWh. Tianwan NPP is based on improved Russian project and is the safest nuclear power plant in China.
