OREANDA-NEWS On 09 October was announced, that Belarus’ gold and foreign exchange reserves (calculated under the national methodology) went up 14.9% in January-September 2009 to USD 4.208 bln.

The amount of precious metals and stones in the NBB reserves increased 28% in January-September to USD 1.026 bln, of monetary gold amounted to USD 736.9 mln as of October 1, 2009, up 100% from January 1, 2009, of gold on foreign bank accounts decreased 12.3% to USD 169.9 mln, of other precious metals went up 60.2% to USD 72.9 mln, and of precious stones went down 8.7% to USD 46.1 mln. 

Other reserve assets increased 8.2 times to USD 665.9 million as of October 1, 2009. 

This year Belarus’ gold and foreign exchange reserves are supposed to rise by USD 2.25 bln. The figure is supposed to exceed USD 10 bln by 2011.
