OREANDA-NEWS On 09 October was announced, that Belarus drafted and submitted to the Russian side a program of cooperation in the fuel and energy sector envisaging privatization of Belarusian petrochemical companies jointly with Russian companies.

The document outlines the participation of Russian companies in the privatization of Naftan-Polimir, Gomel Chemical Plant and Grodno Azot.

The program covers a few cooperation areas, such as the oil and chemical industries, power engineering and nuclear energy, as well as a section to develop harmonized regulatory documents.

The document has been sent to the Russian government.

At the initial phase Belarusian and Russian expects drew up the framework for the program, and then Belarusian experts had been working for about a year to fill the framework with specific projects. 

Experts have already addressed the draft versions of the program. 

It is planned to use the document to prepare a unified program for cooperation between the two countries in the fuel and energy sector that will be submitted to the Union State Council of Ministers.
