OREANDA-NEWS. October 13, 2009. President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko gave his consent to appoint Anatoly Savenok director general of the Manufacturing Corporation “Belarusian Steel Works”.

Anatoly Savenok held the post of deputy director general of the hardware production of the Belarusian Steel Works.

“There are signs of recovery at the company,” Anatoly Savenok told reporters. BMZ is reaching last year’s indices in some parameters. The company is set to increase the production of reinforcing-bar steel by 6% over 2008. The number of orders for pipes and hardware production has increased too. These are the productions that were in difficult situation at the beginning of the year. “The main point is to make sure these tendencies remain in place,” Anatoly Savenok said.

Speaking about the new sheet rolling project, Anatoly Savenok informed that the tender for an investor was announced on 1 October. The invitations to take part in the tender have been sent to various banks and manufacturing companies. They are expected to file in their proposals within three months. The project is estimated at USD 1.2 billion.
