OREANDA-NEWS. October 13, 2009. The Turkemn wine-makers crowned their participation in XI Russian Agricultural Exhibition Golden Autumn-2009 in Moscow with a glorious victory. Two gold medals and the highest quality rating confirmed the exceptional quality and high competitiveness of the products manufactured by the wine-producing enterprises of the Food Industry Association of Turkmenistan.

On the instructions of the President of Turkmenistan the Food Industry Association of Turkmenistan presented the best samples of domestically manufactured food products at XI Russian Agricultural Exhibition Golden Autumn-2009, which took place at the All-Russian Exhibition Centre from October 9 through October 12. The contest for the best environmentally pure products was arranged in the framework of the international forum. Different countries worldwide presented over 160 items of foodstuffs for the contest. The jury awarded the highest quality rating to Yasmansalyk and Gara Uzum wines (Gyoktepe winery). Two gold medals were awarded to Beyik Galkynys cognac produced at the Ashgabat winery.

It is the second victory gained by the Turkmen wine-makers this year. This August the wineries of the Food Industry Association of Turkmenistan won two Grand gold medals, 7 gold medals and honorary title of the Best Wine of the 2009 Year at the international contest of wines, cognacs, sparkling wines and strong alcoholic beverage Yalta. Numerous big ‘trophies’ of the wineries of the Food Industry Association of Turkmenistan vividly illustrate worldwide recognition of the Turkmen wine-makers’ craftsmanship well as the unique properties of ‘sunny berries’ grown in the grape plantations throughout Turkmenistan.

The substantial state support for development of food and processing industries including wine-growing and wine-making, Turkmen wine growers’ diligent labour and Turkmen wine makers’ craftsmanship underlie the victories of Turkmen ‘sunny’ drinks at the prestigious international exhibitions.
