OREANDA-NEWS. October 16, 2009. Belarus will raise white sugar selling and procurement prices 2.5% on average on October 3, under resolution #157 of the Economy Ministry.

Prices will range from 2,130 Belarusian rubles (Br) per kilo of bulk sugar to 2,330 rubles per kilo of sugar in plastic or paper packaging.

Sales of sugar for industrial processing will be at ex-factory prices based on the market situation, but not les than 1.38 million rubles per tonne.

The ministry said with reference to Belgospischeprom concern that higher prices are due to higher production costs and general market situation.

Belarus has raised sugar prices twice in 2009, both times by 2.5%.
