OREANDA-NEWS. October 20, 2009. The share of crude oil in country’s overall export for Jan-Sept 2009 reached 79.96% with decline of 77.94% against Jan-Sept 2008.

The State Customs Committee informs that for Jan-Sept the country exported 20.316 million tons of crude oil for US7.985 bn, including 2.26 million tons for US 1.14 bn in September, 245,515 tons for US 1.15 bn in August, 2.125 million tons for US 1.04 bn in June, 1.786 million tons for US 671.5 million in May, 2.515 million tons for US 885.47 million in April and 2.738 million for US 875.345 million in March.

For the reported period the SOCAR Department of Marketing & Economic Operations exported the whole volume of crude oil, while Azerbaijan International Operating Company (AIOC) did not carry out any export.

Last year AIOC did not export in December (as well as in November) versus October export of 6.257 million tons and SOCAR exported 1.594 million tons against 1.307 million tons.

By 1st October 2009 it was carried 31.096 million tons of oil (including 3.5 million tons in September) via pipelines (data of controlling and measuring appliances) and 968,602 tons (153,194 tons in September) of oil by rail.

“1.858 million tons out of overall transportation were transported via Baku-Novorossiysk oil pipeline, 26.113 million tons via Baku-Tbilisi-Ceyhan (BTC) pipe, and 3.1 million tons via Baku-Supsa pipe,” the Committee said.

In September it was transported 139,764 tons via Baku-Novorossiysk pipeline (versus 239,813 in August, 247,835 tons in July, 170,843 in June, 224,612 in May, 224,473 tons in April, 224,253 tons in March, 219,145 tons in February and 167,444 tons in January 2009), 3 million tons via BTC (versus 3.088 million tons, 3.178 million tons, 3.196 million tons, 3.155 million tons, 2.77 million tons, 2.9 million tons, 2.45 million tons and 2.34 million tons respectively), 363,320 tons via Baku-Supsa (versus 215,899 tons, 314,950 tons, 373,701 tons, 373,036 tons, 378,304 tons, 382,932 tons, 339,569 tons and 383,033 tons).

Railway carriages in September totaled 153,194 tons versus 110,521 tons in August, 132,797 tons in July, 10,644 tons in June, 169,746 tons in May, 210,748.6 in April, 64,489.5 tons in March, 81,331 tons in February and 45,773 tons in January.

For 2008 average export price of Azeri oil made US 565.67 per ton and in December 2008 the price dropped to \\\\$373.89 per ton.

For September 2009 oil was exported for the average price of US 504.11 per ton and for Jan-Sept period – US 393.03 per ton.

Azerbaijan’s overall export for Jan-Sept 2009 totaled US 9.986 bn.
