OREANDA-NEWS. October 20, 2009. The visit (started on 18 October) of the Ukrainian Sumy Oblast delegation led by Sumy Oblast Council’s head Vladimir Tokar and Oblast State Administration’s deputy head Alexander Tsupro is under completion.

At today’s media conference in Baku Tsupro said that the Sumy Oblast leadership hoped for activation of co-operation with Azerbaijan.

“We consider Azerbaijan as a main partner and brought within our current familiarizing visit tens of projects on all-round co-operation,” he claimed.

In this connection the Ukrainian delegation included reps of all leading enterprises of the Oblast. Presentation of perspective joint projects has already been held in the Ministry of Economic Development.

Today’s trade turnover between Azerbaijan and the Sumy Oblast is about USD 24 million and I am convinced that it is not a limit,” Tsupro underlined.

In his turn, Tokar informed that in the course of the Baku stay the delegates also visited Mingachevir city. He said that the Azerbaijani party was presented a draft agreement on economic & cultural co-operation. He added that signing of a document on sister cities Mingachevir and Sumy is expected soon.
