OREANDA-NEWS. October 26, 2009. Belarus’ gross domestic product (GDP) contracted 0.3% on the year in January-September 2009 to 99.979 trillion Belarusian rubles (Br), an official with Belarus’ Statistics Ministry told. Industrial output in January-September decreased 4.5% on the year to 90.6 trillion rubles. Farm output rose 2.4% to 22.2 trillion rubles.

In 2008, Belarus’ GDP grew 10% on the year to 128.8 trillion Belarusian rubles. Industrial output amounted to 127.5 trillion rubles, up 10.8% on the year. Farm output increased 8.9% to 26.9 trillion rubles.
