OREANDA-NEWS. November 06, 2009. Recently Aeroflot and Aeroflot-Nord have signed an agreement on operation of some Aeroflot’s flights by Aeroflot-Nord’s aircrafts. The term of such agreement for the first time in the history of cooperation between both companies is over one year. Beginning form the winter schedule 2009-2010, Aeroflot-Nord is to operate 8 Aeroflot’s flights on 6 routes form Moscow (Sheremetyevo) each day, including daily flights to Astrakhan, Novosibirsk, Yekaterinburg, Anapa and flights to Chelyabinsk and Krasnodar twice a day.
According to Mr. Oleg Usmanov, Aeroflot-Nord’s Director General, this is a new phase of commercial cooperation between the mother and the affiliated companies.

“Winter 2009-2010” schedule includes 23 routes both in Aeroflot-Nord’s and Aeroflot’s network, as well as flights under code-sharing agreement with the mother company.
Aeroflot-Nord plans to develop its own routes network, paying greater attention to North-Western routes, including flights from Saint-Petersburg, Arkhangelsk, Murmansk, Naryan-Mar, Syktyvkar and other airports in the North-Western Federal District of the Russian Federation.

When it comes to inter-regional flights, according to Mr. Oleg Usmanov, the airline understands its social responsibility for local flights sustainability within the base region. Aeroflot-Nord is to continue operation of “social flights” even throughout the “low season” period, including flights from Arkhangelsk to destinations in Arkhangelsk Region, Komi Republic and Nenets Autonomous Region: Mezen, Leshukonskoye, Solovki, Kotlas and Usinsk.
