OREANDA-NEWS. November 06, 2009. Cargo turnover of Vanino Commercial Seaport OJSC decreased by  8.9% (5 mln 144.8 thousand tons) in January-October, 2009 as compared to the corresponding period of 2008. In October, 2009 stevedoring company’s cargo turnover increased by 5% (to 598.4 thousand tons), stated company’s press-service.

Within 10 months, 2009 the port handled 2 mln 655.9 thousand tons (+3,7%) for export, including 1 mln 9.8 thousand tons of lumber, 38.3 thousand tons and 528 thousand tons of ferrous- and non-ferrous metals respectively, 1 mln 66.1 thousand tons of coal.

The volume of cargo handled for import amounted to 1 mln 36.4 thousand tons (-18.4%), including earth clay – 1 mln 11.8 thousand tons.

Overall volume of coastal cargo amounted to 293.3 thousand tons (91.8% of the previous year volumes) within 10 months, 2009.

Ferry port Vanino-Holmsk shipped 1159.2 thousand tons of cargo (-22.6%).

The stevedoring company has handled 1134 vessels (including 510 ferries) and 62.5 thousand railcars in January-October, 2009.

Box turnover of the port amounted 19, 932 TEU (-19.5%) within the reporting period.

Vanino Commercial Seaport OJSC is the largest stevedoring company of Khabarovsk region. It provides handling and forwarding services. Cargo is delivered via Vanino to the north-eastern regions of Russia, Japan, South Korea, China, Australia, USA and other countries of APR. In 2008 the company handled 6.621 million tons of cargo.
