OREANDA-NEWS. November 09, 2009. KAMAZ Inc. presented its latest developments in production of gas-fuelled vehicles and associated equipment at GasSUF-2009 International exhibition which opened in International Exhibition Centre “Crocus-Expo” (Moscow).

The main theme of GasSUF-2009 is development of a gas distribution market and technologies for efficient natural gas usage. Technologies for conversion of automobiles to gas fuel, equipment for natural gas liquefaction, storing and transportation, as well as energy saving technologies are traditionally presented at GasSUF exhibition.

The gas theme was and is still one of the most promising lines of development of KAMAZ automobile and bus equipment. The company presented three models of the produced equipment at the exhibition.

In the first place, this is an advanced development – a city low-entry bus NEFAZ-5299-30-31 with a gas engine corresponding to Euro-4 standards. Efficiency, usability, high ecological compatibility at a relatively low price show this model to the best advantage and distinguish it from analogues by the Russian and foreign producers. According to the specialists’ estimates, effectively using NEFAZ-5299-30-31 with a gas engine during 5 years only at the expense of a difference in price between diesel fuel and gas one can buy … another similar bus.

A dumper truck KAMAZ-65115-30 with a three-way unloading was presented at the exhibition as a model of construction equipment working on an alternative fuel. This model estimated at its true worth by the representatives of construction, oil-and-gas industry, and communal services has got a new low-consumption and ecological engine KAMAZ 820.60-260 with 260 hp. The engine corresponding to Euro-4 standards is equipped with an electromagnetic metering device and a dispersed injection with a spark-plug ignition. It not only improves ecological compatibility and efficiency of a vehicle sharply, but also in perspective enables provision of infrastructure for fuelling of these vehicles directly in the production regions.

As a model of special equipment a vacuum vehicle KO-505A on KAMAZ-65115-30 chassis was presented at the exhibition. KO-505A is meant for vacuum cleaning of cesspools by means of mechanized filling, for transportation and unloading of liquid wastes not containing combustion agents and explosive substances to the place of utilization. The gas equipment of such a vehicle raises its efficiency and enables to use it within the precincts of human settlements without prejudice to their environmental conditions.

In the development program of the European Union countries it is planned to convert 23% of vehicles to alternative fuels by 2020. Thanks to KAMAZ designers’ achievements, Russia keeps up with Europe in gas equipment developments. KAMAZ Inc. with the most extensive service network in Russia and the CIS countries can reorientate it for service of gas-fuelled equipment in short terms.
