OREANDA-NEWS. November 09, 2009. UTair Aviation annual presentation was held in New York City at the Mission of the Russian Federation to the UN. Company’s achievements and prospective projects were presented to the UN Secretariat, international diplomatic and business community by UTair CEO Andrey Martirosov.

Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Russian Federation, Permanent Representative of the Russian Federation to the United Nations, His Excellency Vitaliy Churkin addressed his complimentary speech to the guests. He stressed UTair’s vital role in transport support of the UN peacekeeping missions and emphasized positive dynamics of the international development of the company.

UTair Aviation has been successfully providing air transport support of the UN peacekeeping missions from 1991 and appears to be the largest supplier of aviation services to the UN. In 2009 the total of 55 helicopters have been operating in Chad, Sierra-Leone, Ivory Coast, Liberia, Sudan, DR Congo, Afghanistan and Nepal. The total revenue of current international contracts of UTair Group of companies exceeds 300 million US dollars. Every year more than 2,000 pilots, engineers and managers of the company are being sent abroad to support international operations.
