OREANDA-NEWS. November 10, 2009. The Oil Refining and Petrochemical Complex erected by OJSC TANECO will be equipped with the unique treatment facilities. Their main feature will be the complete cycle of waste water treatment and disposal of the wastes, which are produced at that.

Design capacity of the facility is 12,4 million cubic meters per year. About 77 per cent of this scope (or 9,6 million cubic meters) after the treatment will be returned back to the production process. 394 thousand cubic meters of the waste waters are proposed to be used for maintaining of the reservoir pressure during the oil extraction. The remaining waste waters (less than 20 %), treated up to the standards of fishery basins, will be directed to the retention pond, which serves as stand-by fire-protection source. Just from here and only after the fine post-treatment and decontamination the water will be discharged into the river Kama.

According to the design, the treatment facilities will occupy just about 9 hectares. Several significant facilities will be located at this small area: the preliminary treatment unit, the post-treatment unit, the desalination unit, the unit of dewatering and disposal of resulting bottoms and sludge of the waste waters, the unit of physical-chemical and biological treatment.

At least four high technologies, acknowledged all over the world, are provided to be used during the treatment facilities construction.

The treatment facilities of the Complex are also unique concerning cost advantages. Throughout the year, they will allow saving about 227 million rubles, due to exclusion of permanent consumption of fresh water from the river Kama. To say nothing of the payments, which the company would have to pay for environment protection activities in case of direction of all the effluents into the natural ponds.
