OREANDA-NEWS. November 10, 2009. The development of a road interchange at Tverskaya Zastava Square near Moscow’s Belorussky Railway Station is to be completed in 2011.

According to Aleksandr Levchenko, head of the Department of Road and Bridge Engineering of Moscow, a full reconstruction of the railway station was originally to be done by a Turkish company. However, it faced complications during the underground pipelines’ construction. So the Moscow companies have been involved in the project and completed 70 per cent of the work.

The final draft aimed at developing the underground space of Tverskaya Zastava Square is to be prepared by the end of 2009. The underground pipelines are to be built in Q1 2010. The road interchange is to be open in 2011. The whole underground space is to be developed in 2013.

Mr Levchenko added that the utility lines’ construction in that area would cost the city of Moscow 2.5 billion roubles (~USD 83 million).
