OREANDA-NEWS. November 17, 2009. In 2009 the Belarusian pipeline operator Gomeltransneft Druzhba will pump around 79 million tonnes of oil in 2009, the company’s Director General Sergei Sosnovsky told a press conference in Minsk on 16 November.

The Gomel-based oil transportation operator has been working steadily, with nearly the maximum throughput over the last few years. Modernized, the company’s designed capacity is now close to 82 million tonnes per annum.

In 2008 Gomeltransneft Druzhba piped 75.9 million tonnes of oil. In January-October 2009 the volume increased and is expected to be close to 79 million tonnes at the end of 2009, said the Director General. He said the figures meet the guidelines set by the Russian company Transneft. Speaking about the company’s operation in general, Sergei Sosnovsky remarked that all major performance indicators have improved this year, with earnings up by roughly a quarter.

Sergei Sosnovsky said he hopes that in the future Gomeltransneft Druzhba will continue pumping the optimal volume of 70-75 million tonnes of oil per annum.
