OREANDA-NEWS. November 18, 2009. Over the first nine months of 2009 the Rostov branch of JSC Freight One hauled approximately 9.4m tonnes of cargo. The branch loaded more than 143,000 railcars. The bulk of the shipments were made up of cement and construction goods.

For the purpose of keeping its rolling-stock operable, the Rostov branch fulfilled its capital and roundhouse service plan by 101%.

The branch ensured stable growth during the crisis with its client-oriented approach and attractive tariff rates for major clients, including JSC Kavkazcement, JSC Novoroscement, LLC ViVo, JSC Mostovskoi DSZ and LLC YuzhTrans. The Rostov branch performs reliable and high-quality operations under 175 contracts concluded in 2009 on the haulage and tracking of goods. In total the company has more than 300 contracts.

As part of a contract concluded in Q2’2009 to operate the haulage of heavy construction materials in open wagons from stations in the Republic of Abkhazia to Veseloe station on the North-Caucasus railway for the construction of Olympic facilities in the town of Sochi with LLC Sochinskaya Nerudnaya Kompaniya, pilot operations were carried out in June 2009 to haul 80 open wagons. By September 2009 27,700 tonnes of heavy construction materials had been conveyed along this route, requiring the use of 400 of the company’s open wagons.

“The current economic situation needs to be taken into account. “We have a flexible tariff policy and this allows us to retain strong positions on the haulage market,” said Vadim Zhukov, the branch director. “Now we have to work with every client individually. This approach has been productive and the Rostov branch has not lost revenue. In the remaining months of 2009 the task is not to perform any worse.”
