OREANDA-NEWS. November 19, 2009. In October JSC Freight One increased its haulage of coal along the Far Eastern railway more than 6-fold against September this year from 12,000 to 75,000 tonnes.

Freight One collaborates with the region’s leading coal enterprises—JSC Sibirskaya Ugolnaya Energeticheskaya Kompaniya (SUEK), JSC Primorskugol, Neryungriugol, JSC Yukutugol, LLC Sakhalinugol, the Sakha-Korean joint enterprise LLC EREL, and others.

The main bulk of coal carried by JSC Freight One is destined for thermal power stations owned by the Far East Generating Company, the largest energy company in the Far East. More than 10,000 tonnes of coal were delivered from Chegdomyn station to Khabarovsk thermal power plant (TETs-1) and another 13,000 tonnes from Chulbass station (Yakutia railway) to Partizanskaya state regional power station.

“As we approach the heating season, haulage of coal in the region has increased which has required a larger fleet of open wagons on the Far Eastern railway,” noted Viktor Osipov, director of the Vladivostok branch. “In addition to coal, we also convey timber, rolled and scrap metals, construction goods, cement, and industrial raw materials. This type of rolling-stock is in very high demand.”
