OREANDA-NEWS. November 25, 2009. Eurasia Insurance Company increased premium income by 14.63% in January-October. Eurasia’s press service informed of this, reported the press-centre of Eurasia Insurance Company.

According to the press service, in spite of general market slowdown, Eurasia Insurance Company shows a dynamic growth. In January-October 2009, the company collected premiums equal to 21.208 billion tenge, which is 14.63% more than for the same period of the previous year.

According to the company, some decline in concentration is observed on the market. The five leaders as of November 1 of this year account for 48.26% of the total insurance premiums collected by Kazakhstan insurers. Some changes have occurred in the structure of the five leaders: Eurasia Insurance Company, traditionally leaving far behind other companies, ranks first taking 20.24% of the market, Halyk-Kazakhinstrakh also retains its position having collected 11.21% of all premiums, Kazkommerts-Policy remains the third taking 5.99% of the market, Astana-Finance Insurance Company has collected 5.7% of the total premiums, and AIG Kazakhstan Insurance Company ranks fifth with the share of 5.11%.

“Ten months of 2009 have resulted in the receipt of insurance premiums throughout the Kazakhstan insurance market equal to 104.76 billion tenge, which is 17.34% lower than the similar index of the last year,” the press service reported.

Eurasia’s assets reached 53.558 billion tenge as of November 1, 2009, having increased by 25.35% in comparison with the same index of the previous year. The capital comprised 32.379 billion tenge, which is 26.85% more than the index of the previous year. The company has paid 2.244 billion tenge under insurance/reinsurance contracts for the period under review.
