OREANDA-NEWS. December 3, 2009. The anti-crisis measures taken have made it possible to support individual economic sectors and have had a beneficial effect on the social and economic situation in the country as a whole, the President said in his speech.

Mr Medvedev noted that all the main macroeconomic indicators have stopped falling, and Russia has registered positive GDP growth since June. Facilitating post-crisis development and modernising all different sectors of the economy are the main budget policy tasks, the President said, informing the meeting that he has signed the federal law on the federal budget for 2010 and the planning period of 2011 and 2012, which makes provisions for financing all anti-crisis measures.

The President also said that the formation of the customs union between Russia, Belarus and Kazakhstan calls for a new approach to economic activity. 

Ensuring macroeconomic stability, road construction, and the effectiveness of raising duties were also examined at the meeting.

The Government received specific instructions on some of the matters discussed. 

Taking part in the meeting were Chief of Staff of the Presidential Executive Office Sergei Naryshkin, First Deputy Prime Minister Igor Shuvalov, Deputy Prime Minister and Finance Minister Alexei Kudrin, Deputy Prime Minister and Government Chief of Staff Sergei Sobyanin, Presidential Aide Arkady Dvorkovich, Health and Social Development Minister Tatyana Golikova, Economic Development Minister Elvira Nabiullina, Chairman of the Central Bank Sergei Ignatyev, and Sberbank CEO German Gref.
