OREANDA-NEWS. December 3, 2009. After by-stage reconstruction, Service-Invest (DTEK) has commissioned the 35 kV overhead line Smolianka-GPP 4, which supplies electricity to one of the strategically most valued enterprises in Ukraine — Donetsk State-owned Chemical Plant. The cost of modernization, which lasted 6 months, totalled UAH3.4m. In course of overhead line reconstruction, wooden poles were replaced with reinforced concrete and metal supports, and a new wire with higher transmission capacity was installed.

The new overhead line will not only improve reliability and quality of electricity supplies to the large industrial consumer - Donetsk State-owned Chemical Plant, but also ensure uninterrupted power supplies to Kuybyshevskiy District of Donetsk city.

Ukrelektrosetstroy (Donetsk), Mironovskiy Reinforced Concrete Plant (Debaltsevo town) and others were the partners of Service-Invest on project implementation. Each year Service-Invest reconstructs 25 to35 km of its overhead electricity transmission lines.

'This overhead line had undergone no modernization since its commissioning in 1937. The works the Company conducted have extended the service life and improved the operational reliability of the line. Furthermore, the 35 kV line has been moved beyond the site of private houses, which enhances households safety', said the General Director of Service-Invest, Mr. Valeriy Mostsypan.
