OREANDA-NEWS. December 7, 2009. Belarusian Steel Works (BMZ trademark) is the first large Belarusian company to get certified by the international accreditation body Deutsche Gesellschaft fur Akkreditierung mbH (DGA).

The European experts have confirmed the ability of the company’s central lab to carry out physical and mechanical tests as well as tests to assess the chemical composition of reinforcing steel and seamless pipes in line with the declared accreditation area.

The DGA certificate will stay in effect till October 2014. Before acquiring the certificate the company’s lab underwent accreditation procedures only in the national accreditation body. The national accreditation certificate was recognized in seven countries in line with bilateral agreements. The DGA certificate will be effective in most European states, largely increasing the BMZ export potential.

To get the certificate, the company had to scrupulously examine the existing European accreditation system and its regulations, had to pass through all the stages to get Europe’s recognition. The final decision was made by foreign specialists after a comprehensive audit.

The certificate confirms the BMZ’s lab’s competence. It confirms that the lab has the necessary equipment and personnel and its operation is organized in line with European requirements.
