OREANDA-NEWS. December 7, 2009. Over the past 11 months (from January till November, 2009) 5 million 547,9 thousand tons of cargo have been handled at the "Vaninsky sea trading port" (Open Society "Port Vanino"), that is 9,3 % below as of 2008, according to the port news service report. In November over 401,7 thousand tons of cargoes were handled, that is less by 14,7 % as of last year, the repost says.

The stevedore company has transshipped 2 million 844,1 thousand tons of export cargoes over 11 months this year (+2,3 % in comparison with last year), including 1 million 85,3 thousand tons of wood cargoes (-17,1 %), 553,6 thousand tons of nonferrous metals (-17,9 %), 1 million 149,5 thousand tons of coal (+90 %) and 38,3 thousand tons of ferrous metals (-69,1 %).

According to the report, 1 million 85,9 thousand tons of inward cargoes (-20,2 % as of 2008), including 1 million 60,6 thousand tons (-0,5 %) alumina have been handled at the port .

Over 323 thousand tons of coasting vessels cargoes have been transshipped, that is  6,8 % as of January-November, 2008. Besides, 1 million 294,9 thousand tons of cargoes (-20,8 %) were transported trough the ferry berth Vanino-Kholmsk., the reports says.

For the accounting period 1243 vessels, including 567 ferries and 67,3 thousand cars were handled at the port.

The Open Society "Port Vanino" is the largest stevedore company in Khabarovsk territory. Through the port cargoes are delivered to the northeast Russia, Japan, South Korea, China, Australia, the USA and other countries of the region. Last year the cargo turnover at "Vaninsky sea trading port" made 6,621 million tons.
