OREANDA-NEWS. December 09, 2009. Glazovsky zavod Khimmash, a part of OMZ Group, had shipped two steam desuperheaters to OAO TANEKO, designed for the oil refining and petrochemical facility in Nizhnekamsk, currently under construction.

A steam desuperheater is a vessel of over 36 m length and 3.2 m diameter. One piece of equipment weights approximately 65 tons. Steam desuperheaters are used in the petrochemical industry as heat exchange units for the steam overheat temperature regulation.

The contract for 15 pressure vessels (3 1st stage Claus reactors, 3 2nd stage Claus reactors, 3 hydrogenation reactors, 3 steam desuperheaters, 3 amine absorbers) with combined weight of over 500 tons was signed in December 2008.

In September 2009 six Claus reactors and 3 hydrogenation reactors were shipped to the customer. The remaining vessels manufactured under the contract will be delivered in the first half of December.

All equipment was manufactured according to designs developed by OAO VNIINeftemash. Detail drawings were developed by the design bureau of Glazovsky zavod Khimmash .

This contract marks another step in the long-term partnership of OMZ Group companies and OAO TANEKO. In 2007, the companies had signed a contract for the delivery of 43 spherical gasholders of 600 m3 and 2000 m3 capacity, used for the storage of propane, propylene, unstable naphta and coking naphta. The delivery was completed on schedule, and the gasholders are currently being installed at the customer’s construction site.

In 2007 the companies had also signed a contract for two hydrocracking units, which are unique by weight and steel quality. The units are currently being manufactured at Izhorskiye Zavody and will be shipped in the beginning of 2010.
