OREANDA-NEWS. December 10, 2009. The volume of transshipment Nakhodka port in January-November, 2009 grown 2 % against the same period of 2008 - to 14,45 million tons. The port handled coal, coke, including batch and anthracite 35,5 % more - to 2,18 million tones, ferrous metals - by14 % - to 4,55 million tones, mineral oil 7,3 % - to 6,37 million tones.

Turnover of containers at the port decreased in 5,6 times - to 7.79 thousand TEUs.

In November the port cargo turnover was reportedly up 20,9 % - to 1,29 million tones.

Nakhodka port is located in the north part of Nakhodka bay on both coast. The port has capacity for year-round navigation, is connected with railway system of Russia and the Western Europe trought Trans-Siberian railway. Throughput of the port increased by 14 % and made 15,2 million tons last year.
