OREANDA-NEWS. December 31, 2009. In the first 11 months of 2009, Freight One hauled 205.5 million metric tons of freight, which is double the haulage of the same period of last year. The growth was primarily due to an increase in the company’s hauling capacity. In addition, during the year the company successfully used a traffic optimization scheme intended to reduce empty running and increase the car turnover rate.

In January-November 2009 the company hauled 68.5 million metric tons of coal, 53.4 million metric tons of oil freight, 20.0 million metric tons of ore, 13.4 million metric tons of building materials, 9.1 million metric tons of ferrous metals, 11.5 million metric tons of cement, 4.5 million metric tons of chemical and mineral fertilizers, 6.9 million metric tons of timber freight and 18.2 million metric tons of other freight.

In January-November 2009, Freight One accounted for 18.6% of the total haulage on the Russian Railways network, which is 10.9 percentage points higher than in the same period of last year.

By the end of 2009 the company plans to have hauled about 230 million metric tons of freight.
