OREANDA-NEWS. January 05, 2010. Volodymyr Lytvyn, Chairman of The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, believes that Scrutiny of the Draft State Budget for 2010 will be the Main Issue of the Next Plenary Week.

"According to the schedule of The Verkhovna Rada, plenary meetings will be launched on 19 January", - V.Lytvyn stated on Sunday, visiting the bookshop in Kyiv.

"First and foremost, I will bring forward the Bill on the Open-List Elections. The second Bill to be scrutinized will be the Bill on the Conferment of the Status of Public Officials to the Teachers, Medical and Cultural Workers", - the Head of the Parliament stated.

The Chairman of The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine considers scrutiny of the Draft State Budget for 2010 to be "the main issue of the session".

"The Government shall immediately submit an adjusted Budget. When the Government submits the Draft, it shall be adopted. The State Budget shall be adopted before a new President of Ukraine who shall fulfill it is elected, as after the elections the attempts will be taken to adjust the Budget to oneґs own needs. V.Lytvyn stated. The Budget shall be adopted for the country, not the Ukrainian politicians".

The Head of the Parliament expects "mutual reproaches during the first round of elections". "I admit that the issue concerning re-calculation of ballots can be raised", - V.Lytvyn stated.
