OREANDA-NEWS. January 5, 2010. The Coating Division of MMK has significantly expanded the size range of its products from the 320 and 350 strength hot dip galvanized steel.

High strength rolled products are finding an ever wider use in the construction sector (for example, in fabrication of high strength construction structures). Their key advantage, compared to ordinary steel, is the possibility of reducing the steel's thickness while maintaining the required strength. A reduction in thickness, with the same specific weight of steel, results in a greater surface area, and thus, a greater quantity of steel structures fabricated at service centres.

At present MMK is capable of producing steel strip from the 320 and 350 grades in the range of 0.6 – 2.0 mm in thickness and 1,000 – 1,465 mm in width to the GOST R 52246-2004 standard. In terms of their mechanical properties, these products satisfy the requirements of both Russian and foreign customers.
