OREANDA-NEWS. January 08, 2010. Azerbaijan will join centralized system of SCADA dispatching system of gas supplies to Europe, which will be created under programme INOGATE of European Union (EU).

Informed sources said that the State Oil Company of Azerbaijan (SOCAR), as single gas operator of the country, obliged to provide the European Commission (EC) with full operational transparency of natural gas deliveries to Europe within the framework of creation of single SCADA.

“It is progress and pleasant surprise for everybody, because transferred to SOCAR Aerigaz system was closed in full and nontransparent,” a source informed.

In connection with uncertainty of future of the construction project of Nabucco pipeline, EC reoriented program INOGATE for already existing pipelines.

Within the framework of INOGATE costing system of gas losses in functioning pipelines and development of measures to lower them will be supported, as well as measures to expand transparency of gas travel by creation of single dispatching system SCADA that will enable Europe to know all information about paid by it gas travel.

INOGATE oriented to the states of the former USSR, except for Russia. The program is directed and financed by three leading European companies – Ruhr Gas (Germany), Gas de France (France) and Renco (Italy).
