As a result, BEST turnover on spot-deals in December reached USD 168.327 million versus USD 124.027 million in November, USD  51.6 million in October, USD  58.184 million in September, USD  54.586 million in August, USD  59.175 million in July, US 96.363 million in June, USD  62.855 million in May, USD 228.7 million in April, USD  711.456 million in March (a monthly turnover record for the exchange’s whole history), USD  357.508 million in February and USD  32.572 million in January of 2009, USD  439.087 million in June 2008 (best turnover for BEST entire history), the 2007 record of USD  310.3 million in July, BBVB entire history turnover record of USD  434.432 million in December 2006, the 2005 record of US 108.781 million in September, the 2004 record of US 97.59 million in March, the 2003 record of USD 100.428 million in December.

The 2009 spot transaction turnover on USD  dollar totaled USD  2.005 bn versus USD  2.46 bn in 2008, (record for 15 years of activity of the exchange), USD  1.75 bn in 2007, USD  1.9 bn in 2006, the 2005 turnover of USD  813.284 million, the 2004 turnover record of USD  910.97 million and the 2003 turnover of USD  438.9 million.

The data for 2009 does not take into consideration SWAP deals (US 260.4 million) signed in February (USD  57.4 million), March (USD  91.4 million), April (USD  67.4 million), May (USD  34.2 million), and June (USD  10 million). But if to take them into account, the turnover for March would make USD  802.856 million (in February: USD  414.908 million), for April USD  296.107 million, for May USD  96.78 million and for Jan-Dec would total USD  2.265 bn. At the same time, turnover on 16-19 March would make USD  303.988 million.

During the current workweek of 2009 only deals with valuation of currencies on the same day were concluded in BEST(T+0): on 28 December turnover totaled USD  7.75 million (exchange rate: AZN 0.8035 to the US dollar); on 29 December US 6.9 million (rate: AZN 0.8042 to the US dollar); on 30 December US 80.44 million (rate: AZN 0.8043 to the US dollar); on 31 December and 1 January trading was not conducted in connection with New Year’s red-letter day.

On 5 June 2008, turnover (US 143.749 million) became the best for entire history of BEST and turnover of exchange per trading day. But on 13 March spot-transaction turnover (US 134.353 million) and swap deals (US 24 million) made US 158.353 million – absolutely new record. The best turnover per week was registered on 2-6 June 2008 - US 282.974 million. The best turnover per day in 2009 was registered on 17 March - US 121.799 million.

The average size of deal with valuation of currencies on the same day made USD  1,107,143 on 28 December, US 862,500 on 29 December, US 6,187,692 on 30 December, US 0 on 31 December, and US 0 on 1 January.
