OREANDA-NEWS. January 11, 2010. Socar Energy Georgia (SEG) LLC, a sub-company of the State Oil Company of Azerbaijan Republic (SOCAR), continues implementing its long-term plans to open petrol stations under SOCAR brand in Georgia.

SEG president Mair Mammadov says that currently they own 32 petrol stations operating under SOCAR brand in Georgia.

“Another one has been built but has not been opened. Before the end of 2010 SEG is planning to bring its network in Georgia up to 60 stations. Such quantity of petrol stations will allow us to control at least 17-18% of retail market of oil products of Georgia,” Mammadov said.

Until the end of 2009, SOCAR planned to raised its network up to 33-35 filling stations, and as a whole met this challenged.

At the same time, SOCAR is the most dynamically developing network of petrol stations in Georgia.

SOCAR has a 51% stake in SEG LLC and the rest belongs to Georgian partners.
