OREANDA-NEWS. January 18, 2010. Within the framework of the Russian President Dmitri Medvedev's visit in Turkmenistan, the ceremonial opening of ITERA International Group of Companies’ Office Center was held in Ashkhabad on December 22.

Igor Sechin, Deputy Chairman of the Government of the Russian Federation, Baimurat Khodzhimukhamedov, Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers of Turkmenistan, representatives of state bodies of Russia and Turkmenistan participated in the opening ceremony.

The Office Center consists of three blocks: administrative, recreational and residential ones. Their total area is five thousand square meters. The construction commenced in May of 2008.

Igor Makarov, Chairman of the Board of Directors of ITERA International Group of Companies, said at the opening ceremony: “Today, we are on the verge of practical implementation of a large project. Its foundation was laid when the agreement on block 21 in the Turkmen sector of the Caspian Sea was signed. The new offices shall be of great help to us in the difficult work to be done”.

ITERA has been operating in Turkmenistan for 17 years. In 2010, ITERA  together with Zarubezhneft is to commence exploration of hydrocarbon resources and the development of the fields discovered in block 21 of the Turkmen sector of the Caspian Sea that had been prepared for development.

Moreover, ITERA is constructing the Central Kara Kum – CS Yilanly gas pipeline with the length of 198.5 km, hotels and a vacation hotel in the Avaza resort zone, and two hippodromes in the Balkan velayat and the Lebap velayat.
