OREANDA-NEWS. January 19, 2010. Belarus’ consumer prices went up 1.3% on the month in December 2009, compared with a rise by 0.3% in November, an official in the National Statistics Committee told.

Prices rose 10.1% in January-December.

Food prices rose 2.33% in December 2009 and 9.4% in January-December, non-food prices went up 0.35% and 10.1%, and consumer services prices increased 0.6%, but showed an increase of 11.9%, respectively.

In 2008, inflation accelerated 13.3%, above the original annual target of 6%-8%, and worst since 2004, which recorded a 14.4% inflation pace.

The government hopes to settle within 9%-11% this year.
