OREANDA-NEWS. January 28, 2010. As shown by results of 2009, SIBUR enterprises have produced 15 million tons of petrochemical products that is 3% higher than in 2008. The 2009 output of dry stripped gas amounts to 14.8 billion m3 against 13.3 billion m3 in 2008.

The highest growth is seen in segment of raw materials as well as manufacture of polymers and mineral fertilizers. Reduced production of rubbers and tyres was caused by sharp decline in demand by automotive industry. Monomers fell down due to temporary shutdown of rubber output and shutoff of isoprene production by Novokuibyshevskaya Petrochemical Company.

Investments in development for 2009 amounted to RUR 29 billion. The implemented projects include startup of the  second stage of Yuzhno-Balyksky Gas Processing Facility and treatment works at Voronezhsinthezkauchuck, beginning of geosynthetic operations, and completed upgrade of ABS+PC composites plant at Plastic.

In addition, new rubbers production has been arranged at Voronezhsinthezkauchuck and Krasnoyarsk Synthetic Rubber Factory. Caprolactam in Nizhny Novgorod region  has run a new soft cable compounds production line.

The consolidated receipts of SIBUR in 2009 are estimated to reach RUR 152.5 billion that is 12% less than in 2008 (RUR 173. 5 billion). At the same time, the Company expects the increase of its consolidated net income in 2009 against 2008.

"Despite of sharp decline in demand and shutdown of some capacities, in the beginning of the year we managed to retain the positive production trends and continued financing of our investment projects with insignificant extension of their implementation schedules", SIBUR President Dmitry Konov said. "We expect to significantly raise our investments as compared to the previous year".
