OREANDA-NEWS. January 28, 2010. The Belarusian government has extended its authorization for companies to sell their products on the domestic and foreign markets at prices below production costs until January 1, 2011.

Originally, this was allowed by resolution #1834 of the Council of Ministers dated December 1, 2008.

The Council of Ministers allows directors of exporting companies to reduce the prices of supplies on condition that the producer keeps the profitability rate above zero from the start of the reporting period and sells its products via the Belarusian Mercantile Exchange.

In case the producer fails to generate profits, the decision on exports of goods may be made by the concerned state agency after considering the application for exporting at prices adjusted for the situation on the market, within five days of receipt of the application.

The director of the exporting company must provide an economic justification, indicating data about the financial situation, return on sales, price formation, measures to reduce production costs, information about the market situation, and comparative analysis of prices for similar goods.
